Creating spaces where women feel seen, strong and free.

Hi, I'm Zuzu.

I'm a Sydney-based artist, muralist and illustrator, originally from Slovakia.

My work is inspired by the ocean, the women who move through it, and the quiet moments that often go unnoticed. Through clean lines, soft colour palettes and minimalist compositions, I explore themes of connection, confidence and belonging.

Whether it's an original painting, a large-scale mural or a simple line drawing, my goal is always the same: to create work that feels calm, timeless and deeply personal.

My Story

Art has always been part of my life, but it wasn't until I moved to Australia that I truly found my artistic voice.

Living by the ocean changed the way I see the world. The rhythm of the waves, early morning swims, surfing and the coastal landscape became an endless source of inspiration. Over time, those experiences naturally found their way into my work.

Today, my paintings are less about depicting a place and more about capturing a feeling. They invite viewers to slow down, reconnect with themselves and remember moments that often pass too quickly.

The name In Hide and Seek reflects this idea. Sometimes the most meaningful things aren't immediately visible. They're hidden in everyday rituals, quiet conversations, shared experiences and the emotions we carry long after a moment has passed.

Artist Statement

My work explores the relationship between people, nature and the spaces we inhabit.

Recurring female figures, surfers and simplified forms become symbols of presence, freedom and quiet confidence rather than portraits of specific individuals. By removing unnecessary detail, I leave space for viewers to bring their own memories and interpretations to each piece.

Inspired by coastal life, architecture and everyday observations, I use minimal compositions and restrained colour palettes to create artworks that feel both contemporary and timeless.

Rather than telling complete stories, my paintings offer fragments of them, small moments that invite reflection, calm and connection.
